Chad Stearns - CT paint - kickstarter
You guys [JC Millenial] reached out to me and offered to market my kickstarter. That you have started your own company and are out serving clients while still in school, I think looks pretty good on you both. It reflects both ambition, and a good strategy for developing real business skill.
As far as I know, to promote my kickstarter, you guys did three things. First, you ran social media campaigns on facebook and twitter. In that simple way, you were effective at putting my kickstarter in front of eye balls. Second, you also reached out to many different persons and entities like pixel artists and video game companies (which are part of the target demographic of my kickstarter). Third, they got my software used and featured in college class rooms.
I can identify the value in advertising on facebook and twitter. I think there are enough interested people in the world who would want to contribute to my kickstarter, the problem is sifting through enough of the worlds population to find them. To some extent too, I can see some value in getting my software featured in college class rooms, if only because its exposure to many people. Reaching out to pixel artists seems pretty valuable. I did that plenty myself, not only to find people interest in contributing, but more importantly to learn about how they use pixel software and whats important to them.
